I mentioned in a previous post that I dream of having a hovering tripod some day. Well what do you know – it exists! Draganflyer X4, created by Draganfly Innovations Inc., is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) like the ones the government uses in Iraq or Afghanistan. It uses 4 rotors to maintain stability and is controlled remotely by a wireless radio. There are many uses, including aerial & wildlife photography, law enforcement, military tactical surveillance, environmental assessment and others. Unlike their evil brothers, which cost millions, the X4 can be had for $10,000. It’s $9,800 over my budget but I still want one. I can only hope that someday they can produce one for $200.
